Refinex is based on the ability of botulinum toxin type A to block the release of acetylcholine in synapses that perform neuromuscular transmission, resulting in local muscle paralysis.
The drug Refinex is an analog of BOTOX, which has long been used in cosmetology. Produced by the Japanese company Medical Research Institute.
The basis of Refinex is a sterile, lyophilized botulinum toxin type A-hemaaglutinin, which is obtained by cultivating a Clostridium botulinum culture on a medium containing yeast and trisinase. It is an exotoxin, which is structurally a large polypeptide molecule consisting of two fragments – a light (50,000 Dalton) and a heavy (100,000 Dalton), which are interconnected by means of disulfide bridges.
After obtaining crystalline bululinotoxin, it dissolves, is carefully filtered through microfilters with a pore size of 0.2 microns, after which it is introduced into a solution containing sucrose, albumin and dextran, then it is lyophilized and realized in this form.
The action of Refinex is based on the ability of botulinum toxin type A to block the release of acetylcholine in synapses that perform neuromuscular transmission, resulting in local muscle paralysis.
Albumin is a simple water-soluble protein, increases the bioavailability of the main active ingredients, dextran is a polysaccharide, helps to transfer free water in the tissues into the vascular bed, that is, reduces swelling, sucrose moisturizes the skin.
When a lyophilisate is diluted with a physiological solution of sodium chloride, an odorless, colorless or yellowish solution is formed.
Flkaon Refinex contains 50 or 100 units of botulinum toxin type A, human albumin 0.5 mg, 30 mg mannitol, 30 mg dextran. Before use, the drug is diluted in the right amount of saline, it turns out yellowish or colorless transparent liquid. Storage conditions of the finished solution – 2-8 ° C.
